ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
What do anti-wrinkle injections treat?
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce lines and wrinkles that form in the upper face. As we age, changes occur at different rates to the upper, mid and lower sections of our face. In the upper face, ‘dynamic’ lines appear in the forehead and around the eyes when we smile or frown. These lines appear because various muscles contract to form different facial expressions. Over time, these expression lines begin to linger longer, or become deeper, even when your face is at rest (these are called ‘static’ lines). While a few lines add character, anti-wrinkle injections relax wrinkles causing muscles to help refresh your facial appearance.
What is an anti-wrinkle injection?
An anti-wrinkle injection is a natural, purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a strong and natural look. The active ingredient in anti-wrinkle injections is derived from bacteria in sterile laboratory conditions in much the same way penicillin is manufactured from mold. As it is a prescription-only medicine, an anti-wrinkle injection is only available from qualified medical professionals.
How does it work?
Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing facial muscles that cause dynamic lines when you smile or frown. Anti-wrinkle injections gradually reduce current lines and prevent new lines forming. Anti-wrinkle injections are registered for treatment of crow’s feet, forehead lines and glabellar frown lines.

It is important to follow any aftercare instructions your clinician gives you.
