Our number one aim at Dr Aesthetics is enhancing your appearance, for a naturally beautiful result, without expensive, invasive procedures. And possibly the biggest concern of many of our clients, is how they can naturally ‘turn back the clock’ to combat the signs of aging.
There are many different treatments and procedures that we offer, and all treatments are very carefully tailored towards each unique patients’ needs, with a customised plan. One of these great treatments is dermal fillers, provided at our Medical Aesthetics clinics in Melbourne.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are where a special, and often natural, substance is injected under the skin. They can be particularly helpful to add volume and enhance your facial features, to produce a more youthful appearance.
Essentially one of the biggest effects of aging that many people encounter, is loss of volume through the face. This is both a natural process, and can often be worsened by lifestyle factors, such as stress. Dermal fillers can therefore restore that lost volume to transform the way you look.
Dermal fillers can be used alone, or in combination with other treatments, as desired (and as recommended by Dr Theva).
They’re relatively safe and have minimal pain or recovery time – and can last from 6 months, through to two years.
What can Dermal Fillers be used to treat?
Under Eye Fillers
There’s nothing quite as frustrating as when we feel full of energy, yet our eyes constantly make us look tired. Dermal fillers are incredibly useful for revitalising tired eyes, by smoothing out under-eye wrinkles, plus removing bags and tear troughs.
Filling Facial Fine Lines
As we age, we tend to start getting fine lines and wrinkles, particular;y around the mouth.+. While this is a completely natural aging process, sometimes it can be more bothersome for some, or they may appear earlier, giving an older appearance than we’d like. Dermal fillers therefore help smooth out the appearance of the skin.
Adding Volume & Enhancing Cheeks & Chin
If you’ve lost a little volume across your cheeks or chin, you could be starting to feel a little self-conscious about this. Using dermal fillers may well provide the extra fullness and definition you once had and would love to maintain.
Lips can also be a major cause of concern as we age, particularly for women who like -wearing lipstick for a polished appearance. Dr Theva is an expert at adding volume to lips, to help enhance and define their shape, without making them look unnatural.
How long do dermal fillers take to complete?
Generally, dermal filler treatment sessions only take around 30-45 minutes to complete. You’re usually up off the chair, and on your way to resume your normal daily activities, straight after.
Are dermal fillers painful?
The dermal filler process itself is relatively painless, with just a subtle slight sting, from the prick of the needle being inserted into the site. If you are particularly anxious about this, we can also offer a topical aesthetic so you won’t feel anything at all.
Either way, the entire process will be thoroughly explained to you, before the procedure, so you know exactly what to expect – and so we can address any concerns you may have.
What are the side-effects of dermal fillers?
When seeking dermal filler treatment from a professional and highly experienced doctor, such as Dr Theva, side-effects are generally fairly minimal and quite rare.
At worst, you may experience a little redness, swelling and bruising – which will resolve within one week.
